About Dr. Jason Klop

jason-klopI am a Naturopathic Doctor on a journey to educate, empower and treat those on their journey with digestive challenges. There is a lot of conflicting information on the internet as it relates to SIBO which is partially because this is a complicated illness and partially because some resources just have no idea.

It is my intention to break that cycle and provide information and resources that clarify and promote the understanding of SIBO and how it can be beaten naturally.

I often get asked: 'Why do you care about SIBO?'

My short answer: When I was 15 years old, I was diagnosed with an acute medical condition (unrelated to SIBO) that had me experiencing a lot of physical discomfort. To the point of not being able to swallow and eat foods properly. My parents took me to our family doctor and after several failed prescriptions and a somewhat lengthy process of identifying the illness, he told me that I should go home and rest and that within a year I should be feeling better...

Thankfully, my parents didn't settle for that answer and took me to a Naturopathic Doctor who over the period of 3 days transformed my health with some very basic interventions. I WAS SHOCKED. Here I was a 15 year old boy who thought it was going to take a year or more to get back to my lively and energetic self. I thought I would need to give up on sports and have a limited ability to excel in school. I lost hope.. Until I found it in Naturopathic Medicine.

When I experienced that relief, I knew with a strong conviction that I needed to become a Naturopathic Doctor and extend that hope and relief to those who are struggling with illnesses that the conventional medical system doesn't fully accept and understand. Much less know how to effectively treat.

This leaves us with SIBO. An illness that falls under the aforementioned category with many people struggling for years and even decades with unexplained and debilitating symptoms with palliative treatments as the only option for care.
